difficulty or demur as to paying from the Commissariat Chest the Bounty Money to which the men of the 538 Regiment who are to be allowed to volunteer into the 78th Regiment for the purpose of remaining

His Excellency the Governor in Council is quite prepared to authorize that being discharged by the Civil Department on the usual official Receipts being furnished to the Treasurer
At the same time I am directed to add that His Excellency has imbibed great doubts from the inquiries he has made, whether this obviously Military charge will be allowed by Her Majesty's Government to remain at the debit of the Civil Department in which it will form
